First American

ClarityFirst

About the project

FirstAmerican had been using decades-old software, limiting the growth and introduction of new features.
We built ClarityFirst to modernize operations and recapture growth in the commercial space.
ClarityFirst moved the pen-and-paper tradition of real estate finance to a digital ecosystem for escrow officers and customers.
In addition to user benefits like improved UX and shorter deal times, the platform also offered new features aligned with how First American’s customers do business.

Luis’ role

  • Program Manager

After 8 years working in Product Management roles, I was given the chance to expand my career and become the Program Manager in the most significant account of the company, coordinating the delivery of +65 people and six engineering teams and reporting to the client.

  • Transitioning to a new platform

ClarityFirst was built to replace First American’s existing legacy platform. That required a thorough review of all current features in the old platform to evaluate if they should be part of the new platform, proposing unique features after years of stagnation, and planning the training and releases to the employees and customers with the change management board.

  • A new working framework
I built a Program Management framework named “Gestalt”, a shared brain for the TheoremOne Hephaestus programs.
The initiative aimed to improve observability by providing a single “pane of glass” for viewing the work status across all squads and a central resource for documentation about scope, risks, and other artifacts describing the Program work.
